Francisco is the VP for Portfolio Management & Strategies in our Global Renewables SBU and, since March 2022, is the Chairman of the Board for AES Brasil Energia, a leading renewable energy company, listed in the B3 Brazil Stock Exchange under the Novo Mercado segment (AESB3), the highest level of Corporate Governance in Brazil. He was also recently appointed as a board member of AES Andes in Chile.

Before that, he has served in several AES senior corporate leadership positions in the US and Brazil, including leading the Strategy and Investment Committee, coordinating relationships with Global Customers and transforming AES’ portfolio of investments in Brazil, including his role as Chief Financial Officer and VP for Investor Relations for AES Eletropaulo and AES Tiete, at that time, publicly listed companies in Sao Paulo’s’ Bovespa Stock Exchange.

He started his career with AES in Electricidad de Caracas (EDC) in Venezuela. Before joining EDC, he worked in the banking and consulting sector. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Corporate Finance and MSc in Management, by Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela. He also completed the AES Senior Leadership Program at University of Virginia and the AES Global Leadership Retreat at Georgetown University.

Francisco is a Board Member of the Brazil-US Business Council in Washington, DC, and member of the Advisory Board for AES Colombia.
